Olga, I have picked up your idea with the widgetized sidebar, because it helps with two other things:
1. I can limit the depth of category display (the easiest way out:of that template problem with the sub-sub-categories ,– they have very few products anyway. They’re mainly for SEO, they’re too fine-grain for customers.
And that works.
2. I can add other widgets, so I’m finally able to display the color and size filter on that same sidebar.
But: that throws a few Javascript errors, and the loading picture appears and doesn’t disappear anymore.
